ABOUT

The idea for Virginia Vendor Food Services first began in a small family bakery and grocery store in Richmond, VA.

The Hagez family’s shop was responsible for introducing Richmond to the Mediterranean flatbread, Pita, which is a staple in the Lebanese culture where they originated from.

In 1980, the cuisine had garnered so much attention that the Hagez’s were invited to participate in the June Jubilee festival. Over the next several years the family’s food tent became so popular that other festivals started inviting

them to participate. Owner, Virginia Hagez, founded Virginia Vendor Food Services several years later as the festival invitations began reaching across the US.

As a family owned and run business, Virginia's three children grew up heavily involved in VVFS.

And when her son, Nader, graduated high school he decided to follow in his mother’s footsteps by

pursuing a career in restaurant management at The Culinary Institute of Johnson and Wales.

After graduation he came back to his hometown of Richmond and became a co-owner.

Over the last decade Virginia and Nader have continued to grow the business by opening

not only several restaurants, but also becoming a pillar in the food truck community.

All the while still building their festival base.

But as the business has grown the family aspect has remained unchanged.

Whether visiting one of our tents, trucks, or restaurants, there's a good chance you’d see one or

two of Nader and Vivian’s four sons working alongside their dad and mom;

carrying on the family’s belief in hard work,

family, and food.
